Editing & Modifying Features

Introduction

Once pipes, nodes, customers, and graphics are in a model, this is where you change them. The Editing & Modifying Features commands cover viewing and editing the data behind a feature, moving or copying it to a new location, matching one feature’s properties onto others, converting a feature from one type to another, adjusting pipe geometry, and fixing up pipe intersections and connectivity. Together they’re the toolkit for correcting, refining, and reshaping a model after the initial features are drawn.

Module/Application

• Editing Customer, Node & Pipe Data
  • Use Case: view or change a customer, node, or pipe’s data — one at a time, in bulk across a selection, or by selecting a pipe to reach its attached customers.
  • Covers: single-feature edits, Edit Multiple Customers/Nodes/Pipes, and overriding calculated External Load and Customer Count values.
• Editing User Graphics, Text & Tables
  • Use Case: change the data behind User Graphic Images, Lines, Symbols, User Text, and tables already placed in the model.
  • Covers: per-feature edits and any table-specific formatting or content changes.

  • Use Case: relocate a customer, node, pipe, pipe end, or individual pipe vertex to a new position.

  • Use Case: change a feature from one type to another, such as turning an arc pipe into a polyline pipe.
  • Covers: the supported feature-type conversions and what happens to their data when converted.
• Matching Customer & Node Properties
  • Use Case: copy one customer’s or node’s graphic and/or hydraulic data onto one or more other customers or nodes.
