This article covers the nine commands used to reset feature display colors back to their saved values, save the model’s current colors as the new saved values, reset the Tool Palette to blank, and set a uniform display size for User Graphic Lines, User Graphic Symbols, or User Text across the whole model. The Reset color commands only undo temporary colors applied by routines like Color Code or Trace — they restore each feature’s saved color, they don’t change what that saved color actually is. To change the saved color itself, use Save The Feature Colors or the Color Display Settings screen.
Reset The Feature Colors
Resets the colors for every model feature — customer symbols, node symbols, pipe lines, and pipe symbols — to their currently saved values.
- With a model open, the GDI Window displayed, and at least one pipe, node, or customer in the model, select Reset Feature Colors from the GDI Command List.
- All pipes, nodes, and customers are set to their specified saved colors.

Also runs by typing RESETCOLORS or RESET. Clicking the Reset Feature Colors button on the Trace Specifications screen does the same thing.
Notes
- Feature default colors can be changed on the Default Colors tab of the Color Display Settings screen.
Reset The Customer Symbol Colors
Resets just the customer symbol colors to their currently saved values.
- Select Reset Customer Symbol Colors from the GDI Command List.
- All of the customer symbols are set to their specified saved colors.

Also runs by typing RESETCUSTOMERCOLOR or RESETCCOLOR.
Notes
- The Symbol Color field can be set to “Default” (the Customer Symbols value on the Default Colors tab of Color Display Settings) or “Selected Color” (a unique color you specify for that customer).
Reset The Node Symbol Colors
Resets just the node symbol colors to their currently saved values.
- Select Reset Node Symbol Colors from the GDI Command List.
- All of the node symbols are set to their specified saved colors.

Also runs by typing RESETNODECOLOR or RESETNCOLOR.
Notes
- The Symbol Color field can be set to “Default” (the Node Symbols value on the Default Colors tab of Color Display Settings) or “Selected Color” (a unique color you specify for that node).
Reset The Pipe Colors
Resets the pipe lines and pipe symbols to their currently saved colors.
- Select Reset Pipe Colors from the GDI Command List.
- All of the pipes are set to their specified saved colors.

Also runs by typing RESETPIPECOLOR or RESETPCOLOR.
Notes
- The Pipe Line Color field has four options: “Default” (the Pipe Lines value on the Default Colors tab of Color Display Settings), “Facility Table” (the color set for that pipe’s Facility Type on the Facility Settings screen, Edit menu), “Pipe Property Table” (the color set for that pipe’s Size/Type Code on the Pipe Property Table, Edit menu > Property Tables), or “Selected Color” (a unique color you specify).
Save The Feature Colors
Saves the current on-screen colors of every feature — including any temporary colors from Color Code or Trace — as each feature’s new saved color.
- With a Color Code or Trace already performed, select Save Feature Colors from the GDI Command List.
- A message may report that the colors have been saved. Click OK to clear it.

Runs by typing SAVECOLORS. Use Reset The Feature Colors afterward to return all features to the color saved by this command.
Notes
- This sets every feature’s Color Graphic Data Item to “Selected Color” and sets that Selected Color value to whatever color is currently displayed in the GDI Display. Feature colors can also be saved from the Save Feature Colors button on the Color Display Settings screen.
Reset The Tool Palette
Clears every icon from the Tool Palette, returning it to a blank state.
- Select Reset Tool Palette from the GDI Command List.
- Respond Yes to the confirmation message to clear all commands from the Tool Palette, or No to end the command and preserve the current configuration.

Runs by typing RESETTOOL.
Notes
- To remove just one icon instead, right-click it and select Remove Icon From Tool Palette. Commands removed this way stay accessible from the GDI Command List, Command Line, or Command Tree, and can be added back to the Tool Palette later.
Set The User Graphic Line Size For All Features
Sets the pattern spacing (display size) for every User Graphic Line in the model at once.
- With at least one User Graphic Line in the model, select Set User Graphic Line Size (All) from the GDI Command List.
- At the Select Item To Set prompt, choose an item from the GDI Prompt List and right-click.
- For Pattern Spacing: type a value for the new size in the default Prompted Length Values units, or type a value followed by “%” for a size relative to the display width, then press Enter.
- For Scale Pattern Spacing: type a Scale Factor and press Enter to multiply the current size by that factor.
- A message may report when the process is complete. Click OK to clear it.

Runs by typing SETLINESIZE.
Notes
- At the Select Item To Set prompt, choose whether to set an absolute size (in the default Prompted Length Values units, or as a percentage of display width) or scale the current size by a multiplier.
- The Prompted Length Values dimensional units can be changed on the Units tab of Options & Settings (Utilities menu > Options & Settings).
Set The User Graphic Symbol Size For All Features
Sets the symbol size (display size) for every User Graphic Symbol in the model at once.
- With at least one User Graphic Symbol in the model, select Set User Graphic Symbol Size (All) from the GDI Command List.
- At the Select Item To Set prompt, choose an item from the GDI Prompt List and right-click.
- For User Graphic Symbol Size: type a value for the new size in the default Prompted Length Values units, or type a value followed by “%” for a size relative to the display width, then press Enter.
- For Scale User Graphic Symbol Size: type a Scale Factor and press Enter to multiply the current size by that factor.
- A message may report when the process is complete. Click OK to clear it.

Runs by typing SETSYMBOLSIZE.
Set The User Text Size For All Features
Sets the display size for every User Text feature in the model at once.
- With at least one User Text feature in the model, select Set User Text Size (All) from the GDI Command List.
- At the Select Item To Set prompt, choose an item from the GDI Prompt List and right-click.
- For User Text Size: type a value for the new size in the default Prompted Length Values units, or type a value followed by “%” for a size relative to the display width, then press Enter.
- For Scale User Text Size: type a Scale Factor and press Enter to multiply the current size by that factor.
- A message may report when the process is complete. Click OK to clear it.

Runs by typing SETTEXTSIZE.
Notes

FAQ
-
This subcategory covers how the model looks and how you move around it on screen — colors, symbol and text sizes, the Tool Palette, coordinate and snapping settings, what’s visible or hidden in the GDI Display, distance and angle measurements, layer and log toggles, and panning, zooming, and plotting the GDI image itself.
-
Start with Display & Visibility Settings — it controls whether customer symbols, node symbols, pipe symbols, flow arrows, User Graphics, User Text, and background images are turned on or off. If the feature type is visible but hard to spot, Colors, Symbols, Sizes & Tool Palette covers adjusting colors and symbol sizes to make things stand out.
-
Views, Panning, Zooming & Plotting is about controlling what part of the model you’re looking at — saving views, zooming in and out, plotting the image. Coordinates, Projection & Snapping is about precision while you work within that view — setting coordinate systems, snapping to features, and measuring along specific axes, which matters more when you’re placing or aligning features than when you’re just navigating the drawing.
-
Measuring Distances & Angles covers exactly that — Measure A Distance and Measure An Angle let you click points in the GDI Display and get a real-world measurement back, without needing to calculate it separately.
-
Toggling Layers, Logs & GeoMapping covers both. It includes Turn The GeoMapping Functions On Or Off and Turn A DXF Layer Off, along with commands for turning the Change Log on or off and viewing or clearing it.
