Non-PRCI Calculations for ECDA – Enhancement
The DNV, API 579, PCORR, and Shell-92 use maximum length and depth (Level 1) for determining the strength of corroded pipe. Remaining Life and Re-Assessment Intervals with repairs to effective areas. It should be noted that Level 1 calculations would require a full repair from start to finish of the corrosion. See next page for failed maximum safe pressure. On the next page is a Toolset Calculation with a 3 mpy corrosion rate (example) showing the following: Hoop Stress/Yield Pressure, Remaining Life, Reassessment Interval including Potential Impact Radius.
